Erick Rudiak: singer.
It's not that I think I can sing well, mind you. It's just that I write so many words into those damned songs that I have trouble finding anyone with real talent willing to learn them, let alone sing them. So I occasionally leave my cave and perform those songs in front of a willing audience (like this one, at Chicago's venerable Uncommon Ground).
Every once in a while, I do luck out and get the
opportunity to perform with one of Chicago's best:
Jeff Vezain, an exception to both the "learn" and
the "sing" rules postulated above. Jeff is a Rennaissance Man's
Rennaissance Man (TM) and is currently singing lead vocals for Gary Sinise's The Lt. Dan Band. On the fortunate(-for-me) occasion captured here,
Jeff was playing drums and singing shamefully good harmonies at Milwaukee's The Rave in support
of one of my favorites, Rhett Miller and
Old 97's. That's Jeff on the left.
