The Tall Glass MP3: 1729KB

One of our assignments at the High Sierra Songwriter Workshop was to cowrite a song in 30 minutes, with the jumping off point being "through the tall glass." Traci Rieckmann and I came up with this sad little tale of romance and distortion, and I learned a valuable lesson in the things women notice when checking out men in bars. Boy was I way off on my first couple of guesses.

Lyrics:

She looked like a Picasso painting
When he looked at her through the tall glass
Her eyes were as big as a Honda
Her mouth was as straight as the old Mississip'
She looked like a Picasso painting

He looked like an amateur picture
When she looked at him through the tall glass
His teeth filled his mouth to the limit
But the Guinness distorted her view of his ass
The Guinness distorted her view

Past the end of the bar
Through the haze of the room
They continued the dance through the half-empty pint

When some dude insulted the princess
She let out a huff and she threw the tall glass
He looked just like that same old picture
She reminded him of the painting again
She looked like a Picasso painting
